Man Mountain
Threads of Another Life
On Threads of Another Life, Detroit post-rock quartet Man Mountain transforms five years of pandemic-era isolation, grief, and hard-won perspective into seven wordless movements of breathtaking emotional depth. Their first full-length since 2018's critically acclaimed Infinity Mirror, the album was born from remote collaboration forced by circumstance and shaped by loss, with each track reflecting a distinct stage of a collective experience, arranged chronologically like chapters in a story you didn't choose but couldn't put down. Recorded in Nebraska with producer Jeremy Wurst and mastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound (Caspian, Hammock, Hum), the record channels the ethereal textures of Hammock, the shoegaze grandeur of Slowdive, and Motown-inspired grooves into Man Mountain's most sonically dense and emotionally realized work to date, a reminder that even without a single word, music can be the thing that carries us through.
