Boys Life
Ordinary Wars EP
Emerging from Kansas City in 1993, Boys Life helped define the sound and spirit of Midwest indie rock with a raw, guitar-driven intensity and deeply emotional songwriting that set them apart. After two seminal albums, relentless touring, and a legacy that influenced an entire generation of bands, they disbanded in 1997 but never lost the spark. Following reunion tours in 2015 and 2024, the original lineup, Brandon Butler, Joe Winkle, John Rejba, and John Anderson, reconvened to record Ordinary Wars, a new four-song EP that captures the urgency, spontaneity, and unfiltered energy that has always defined their music. Tracked live with longtime collaborator Duane Trower, the songs explore mortality, societal unrest, and the search for meaning, staying true to the band’s uncompromising ethos. Ordinary Wars is a powerful new chapter from a band that never stopped playing the blues...even when they were called something else.
