Shy, Low's New Album "Hiraeth" Out November 13th. New Song "Nostos" and Pre-orders Available Now!

We are proud to announce that we’ll be releasing Shy, Low’s sophomore full-length album Hiraeth on November 13th on limited edition vinyl, CD, and at digital retailers everywhere.

On Hiraeth, the Richmond, VA post-rock outfit showcase their eclectic palate of musical influences more broadly than ever before. The band earnestly sifts through the complex relationship between music, art, and the emotions that encapsulate the human experience — and in doing so, they’ve created a brilliantly moving, yet strangely bittersweet 43 minute musical journey. Listen to the premiere of the new song “Nostos” at Bullett Magazine here.

Pre-orders for Hiraeth are available now on limited edition vinyl, CD, digitally, or as part of several bundles at the Spartan store and Bandcamp. All pre-orders include an instant download of “Nostos.”

The artwork for the LP was illustrated and painted with watercolors by Austin, TX artist/illustrator Hallie Rose Taylor. The flowers and plants showcased in the artwork were inspired by the Welch origin of the album title and are native to Wales. Likewise, Hiraeth’s four vinyl variants were inspired by flowers from the illustration — the Foxglove, Bell Heather, Snowdon Lily - and as a tribute to the artist herself, Hallie Rose. All vinyl pre-orders include a custom Shy, Low watercolor set and fans are encouraged to paint their own version of the Hiraeth cover using the included illustrated insert.
