Honey and Salt Premiere the "Math Rock Anthem" "Oyster" at Substream
Austin math rock masters, Honey and Salt, are gearing up to release their self-titled full length this Friday! We've teamed up with Substream Magazine to share a preview of the album with their explosive and melodic new single, "Oyster." Substream called the track a "math-rock anthem" that "...exemplifies all that Honey and Salt can be with their new album."
"Oyster" is one of the most dynamic cuts from Honey and Salt. The track ebbs and flows through intricate Kinsella-esque guitar work, atmospheric interludes, and an absolutely tremendous chorus that highlights the band's ability inject huge hooks into technical music. Lyrically the song deals with the central philosophical themes of the album as vocalist/guitarist, Wade Allen, wrestles with the pull of nihilism in the face of insurmountable global issues versus the innate desire to care deeply for the world around him.
The band has also announced a run of U.S. tour dates, which start this week with their record release show in Austin. Check out the band on tour all throughout April!
